Profile:   Fifty years experience in manufacturing quality, spun reflectors and housings for the lighting industry has established Stockfield Manufacturing Co. Ltd. as a market leader in this specialist field. This vast experience enables the company to offer their expertise and technical assistance on many aspects of the design process and reflector manufacture, from conception to completion. In fact they welcome the chance to be involved in projects right from the outset to help their customers gain optimum, cost effective solutions.

Stockfield manufactures spun products for wide-ranging applications, varying from floodlighting, commercial streetlighting and highbays to architectural reflectors, airfield lighting, searchlights, traffic lights and specialist medical and high quality CCTV markets.  In addition, the company is successfully selling non-lighting products into new market sectors, such as the food preparation industry, the pharmaceutical / medical market, commercial vehicles, ventilation systems, and the material movement sector.

Stockfield’s production capabilities include:

Spinning
Stockfield’s spinning capabilities range from traditional hand spinning lathes, and 3 CNC automatic spinning machines dedicated to high-bay larger reflectors, producing consistent quality volume products.

The company works regularly in commercial aluminium, super pure clad aluminium, mild and stainless steel in diameters from 25mm up to 1100mm.

Anodising
The company’s anodising plant includes facilities for alkaline electro-brightening for a high specular finish (mirror like finish), chemical brightening for matt or satin finishes, plus plant to produce colours black, green and gold.

Presswork
Stockfield Manufacturing uses its own hydraulic press to tailor their spun products to meet the requirements of customer specifications.

Polishing
Polishing of products manufactured from super pure clad material is carried out in the company’s six lathe polishing shop.

Paint Finishing
Stockfield can provide a variety of paint finishes, including air drying and powder coating with polyester, epoxy and polyester-epoxy materials for high quality durable finishes. Different combinations of internal and external colour can be provided.

Assembly
Stockfield provide a fully flexible assembly operation, and can assemble their spun reflectors / housings to customers’ free issue components. In addition, they complete inspection, testing and final packaging as required.

Over the years, Stockfield has developed its relationship with its sister company Akramatic Engineering Co. Ltd., which is based in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Here they are able to offer metal fabrication accompanied by a large powder coating facility. The two companies often work together on combined projects where both fabrication and spinning are required.

Ethos:   Skills, Expertise and Flexibility

Stockfield Manufacturing is rightly proud of the skills and expertise they have developed over the last 50 years by manufacturing quality, spun reflectors and housings for the lighting industry, and more recently by their successful move into other market segments with non-lighting spun products.

The company is highly flexible and adaptable, and is more than willing to offer advice and expertise in helping customers by contributing to new product development at the design stage. Their experience enables them to make practical suggestions on ways to produce particular components more effectively or economically, and to produce prototypes for evaluation.

Certified to ISO 9001:2000, Stockfield has built a deserved reputation for quality, reliability and service.
